River's Way is a 501 (c) (3) non - profit organization. It was founded in 1993 through the help of the Eleanor T. Reynolds Foundation in Bristol, TN. Today the Reynolds foundation is still the largest source of funding for our organization. Donations from organizations and individuals are always needed and graciously accepted.

River's Way employs three full time staff members year round and relies on other part time workers to keep our operation going. During the summer season of each year, River's Way employs an additional 3 - 4 seasonal adventure staff.

Our mission here at River's Way is "providing opportunities for youth of all abilities to grow through outdoor adventures." Although our programs are encompassing of all populations, we are particularly devoted to providing opportunities for youth with disabilities or youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. We are among only a handful of organizations in the nation that offer adventure program opportunities to youth of all abilities.
